Christ In You, the Hope of Glory

"We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all His energy, which so powerfully works in me." Colossians 1:28 The only purpose of sending you this teaching, is not to in any way exalt or magnify me or this ministry, but with sincere desire to proclaim Jesus!

If there's one message that we need to hear in these end times, it is this encouragement; to be all that God has called us to be. So that we will not fall short of the Glory of God. That we will be so filled with the mind of Christ and the love of God that the most meaningful part of every day would be to direct people to Jesus!

"My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they might know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Colossians 2:2,3

Paul considers the understanding of Christ Jesus to be a treasure. He alone is the "pearl of great price" that we willingly "sell" everything we own to possess this Holy One. What a privilege to know Jesus and to be known by Him. What a priceless relationship we can have with Him. What overwhelming preciousness we find as we crawl upon His lap, resting in His protective and loving arms, looking into His matchless eyes of love and acceptance. Every part of our being reacts to His looks of love toward us. We are of great value to Him – as the apple of His eye! What surpassing worth is this friendship that goes beyond brotherhood! He is our all in all and there is nothing and no one that compares to our relationship with Him. And what a supreme advantage we have in this life and in the life to come, because we know Him Who dwells in us, He Who dwells with us and He Who does gather us into His dwelling place with Him. (Philippians 3:8)

To truly understand that everything in life, past, present and future, is worthless in comparison to knowing Jesus. That the daily cry of our heart would be "This one thing do I desire, this one thing do I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord, all the days of my life! To behold the beauty of the Lord! To inquire of Him, to consider Him and meditate upon Him!" This psalm does not refer to one day when we are joined together with the Lord in death and resurrection, but in "life" now.

Knowing Jesus is not just a meeting once or even that of knowing a distant friend. I have met many of you and there are hundreds who read this that can say "yes, I know Carole" and yet, not many of you "know" me. You may know some things about me and you may know of me, but our desire to know Jesus goes way beyond this shallow acquaintance. Our relationship with the Lord is one that progressively becomes more and more intimately acquainted with Him. To know His voice, to know His personality, to know His very thoughts, how He feels about things, and even to know how He will react emotionally to things. Our knowing Him must be that of perceiving Him in every area of life and relationship. That we are so consciously aware of His presence, His unfailing love, His faithful guidance and His safe arms and to recognize Him at work in our lives, in our character, in our ministry, in our words and in our love for others. To truly know Him with such familiarity that we recognize Him more fully and clearly than we even know ourselves.

That the eyes and ears of our understanding would be so enlightened that we would know the very height, the depth, the length and the breath of His love for us. For the ultimate goal and purpose of life is that we may actually be found and known in Him. That the very essence of who we are is rooted and grounded in the knowledge of His love for us and to us. "That we are so one with Him that there is no distinction between Him and us. That our knowledge of and awareness of His righteousness, imputed to us by the blood of Jesus, would silence any self-achieved righteousness that we could call our own, based on our obedience and ritualistic uprightness that we have acquired by our own works. Rather, that we possess such a genuine knowledge of our righteousness which comes through faith in Him ~ Jesus, the Christ, the anointed One, the son of God! Our righteousness being based solely on His right standing with God through saving faith.

That our determined purpose in life is this alone; that I may know Him, that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understand the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly, and that I may in that same way come to know the power out flowing from His resurrection, which it exerts over believers, and that I may so share in His sufferings as to be continually transformed in spirit unto His likeness even to His death in the hope that if possible I may attain to the spiritual and moral resurrection that lifts me out from among the dead even while I am in the body. Not that I have now attained this ideal or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of, to grasp and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus the Messiah has laid hold of me and made me His own. I do not consider brethren that I have captured and made it my own yet; but one thing I do, it is my one aspiration; forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the supreme and heavenly prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward." (Philippians 3:9,10)

True knowledge of Jesus, the Christ is to know God Himself. True understanding of God brings us into such an awesome life of faith, as we look not to our circumstances but to Him Who has made us and has given us a written guarantee of His faithful service toward us. How great are His mercies, how rich and vast is His grace toward us that believe!

When we are armed with this knowledge, not just about Him, but the knowledge of Who He is in us and who we are in Him, then we are unstoppable! Unmovable! Unfailing! To really acknowledge Him in all our ways, to acknowledge what He has told us, written to us and given to us, makes us powerful creatures of His love, where His presence dwells.

To know God is to love God. To love God is to obey God. To obey God is to release the love that He has placed within us to others. These words are a gift of love to you, from your loving heavenly Father. Make these words your prayer of consecration to Him. Rather than praying about your needs and wants, make this one thing that which you desire above anything else. Tell Him you want to truly know Him and watch the transformations come forth in your life!

May you take these words to heart and meditate on them, searching the scriptures to judge the truths herein, allowing the Holy Spirit to work truth in you, to the renewing of your mind and rest for your soul. Have a light and easy week as you accomplish great things for His Kingdom!
